eutopia
2022
The exhibition was inspired by the area related to the ideological weight of the concept of Utopia.
The objects appearing in the exhibition objects have a symbolic meaning and are a record of ideas related to utopian,
unrealistic design of life, to oneself or others, or the consequences of overconfidence.
The project refers to situations that are universal, but also private. Eutopia (happy place) the Greek éu is - good, happy, auspicious.
Utopian thinking has a long tradition dating back to the beginning of European culture.
Utopia as a "non-place" can theoretically exist anytime and anywhere, since man carries within himself the need to envision
a "new, wonderful world." Permanent happiness is at the same time a trap.
The thesis present in my artistic work is that the realization of an idea as much as its loss,
when the "idea" falls, can be more painful than any other loss. Similarly like Margaret Cavendish in her book The Blazing World (1666),
I suggest that I own my Utopia,
I design a space in which I feel empowered, and those who don't like it - can create for themselves an themselves an ideal world on their own terms.
